CAMBRIDGE, Mass., March 10, 2014 – Infinio, innovative provider of downloadable storage performance, is pleased to announce that National Specialty Alloys (NSA), a supplier of premium stainless steel, nickel, high temperature and specialty alloy products, has chosen Infinio Accelerator to provide the storage performance its VDI deployment needs, with no new hardware.
Nigel Hickey, Infrastructure Administrator at NSA, is seeing sustained storage offload rates of 61%, with peaks from 70-80%. Unlike competing solutions, Infinio is 100% software only, and does not affect native storage capabilities such as snapshotting, cloning, VMware updates, and so on.
“The installation was easy, and the cost was great,” Hickey said. “I didn’t have to plead my case over the CapEx, because Infinio’s results made it easy to cost justify.”
NSA is currently running 60 desktops on VMware View, with plans to grow to 90 or more by year end. While their current NFS storage system has plenty of capacity, Hickey and his colleagues wanted to ensure adequate IOPS and smooth performance to support future growth. Users noticed the faster response right away, Hickey said.
Other Infinio customers represent the retail, life sciences, high technology, financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, and shipping industries.
